Attacked by a Cougar?

Now that the good people at Critter Care have had a chance to look at this Beaver, we now know that he has a bad injury to his back & tail. It appears that this beaver was attached by a Cougar, Coyote or a Dog, but given the size of this animal, the staff are leaning toward the likelihood of it having been a cougar. His back & tail have several punctures & a gash. It is infected & there are maggots in the wound. In this photo, the staff at Critter Care are using tweezers to remove maggots from the wound. Allan mentioned that the Beaver had a strong smell of "wet dog" combined with the odour of infection. He obviously needed a helping hand & he's now getting the attention he needs. He must have gone through a pretty scary experience being attacked & then been very frightened by the cars whizzing by him. We're just glad we were able to help. Thank you for calling CridX Chris!
