Counter Attack - Wasps

How would you like to walk out of your front door to look up and see this above your head?  (Click on the photo to zoom in.)

CridX was called out to take care of this basket ball sized wasp nest.  Any noise made by the home owner, residents, or neighbours was setting off the wasps in this nest and they would start attacking.  Several people had been stung and even a neighbourhood dog felt the sting of these unwanted house crashers.  The treatment has been done and we plan to go back in a week to remove the nest.  We will use fishing line to remove the nest and we hope to keep it as a sample.  We are going to try to cut the nest in half so we can use it in displays to show people what the inside of a wasp nest looks like.

If you have any concerns about wasps give us a call.

Skunk removal/release from a Prison - He's breakin outta this joint!

This skunk was removed from the Kent prison in BC.  He was taken to a provincial park area in Chilliwack.  Hopefully he doesn't make too much of a stink.  The portable he was under was checked out to ensure that there were no young there.  We think he will be quite happy in his new environment and so are the people at the prison.

Bears Close to Cedar In Mission

It seems that everywhere you go right now there are bears around.  This picture was taken about a week ago.  There were 3 cubs with their Momma Bear just in from Cedar Street.   I pulled over and took a quick picture but by the time I got the camera the three cubs were out of sight.  It's too bad that I didn't get a shot of them because they were super cute little fur balls.  I hope everyone in the area of the Mohawk gas station keeps their garbage in lock up!
